9.WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE KNOT DENSITY OF YOUR RUGS?

Knot Density: Knot density is simply the ratio of numbers of knots used per square inch in a hand knotted rug. Since every effort has been made to produce rugs with the patterns of great antique masterpieces, we have tried to use the same knot density. Although this ratio varied slightly among different weavers and sometimes with great exceptions, we tried to stay close to average.
In the rug gallery, the range of the knot density of all the hand knotted rugs are from 75 to 150. With the exception of the rugs made with New Zealand wool. Since this wool is much softer, a higher density of knots had to be used. This range is from 125 to 200 knots per square inch.
Hand Tufted Rugs: Although these rugs are 100% handmade, there are no knots used. Instead there is a backing on the reverse side of the rug to keep the pile in place and uniformed.
